How it works

Renting in Ireland,
done right.

RentMate connects tenants and landlords through a structured, transparent process — no more chaos, no more black holes.

🔑

For Tenants

01

Create your Tenant Profile

Build your rental CV once — employment details, income, references, documents, and a short introduction. Landlords see a complete, structured profile instead of scattered emails.

02

Search and browse listings

Browse available properties across Ireland. Filter by county, bedrooms, budget, pets, and more. All listings are from verified landlords on RentMate.

03

Apply with one tap

When you find a property you like, apply instantly. Your Tenant Profile is sent to the landlord automatically — no copy-pasting, no PDFs, no chasing.

04

Track your applications

See exactly where each application stands: Sent → Viewed → Shortlisted → Viewing invited → Decision. No more wondering if your email was ever read.

05

Know your rights

Use the RTB Assistant to get answers about your tenant rights, deposits, notice periods, and more — powered by AI trained on Irish tenancy law.

Frequently asked questions

Is RentMate free to use?

For tenants, RentMate is free to use — browse listings, apply to properties, and track your applications at no cost. Free tenants can submit up to 5 applications per month. Tenant Pro (€9/month) removes this limit and adds priority listing, AI cover letters, and more. For landlords, all listings are free until 10 June 2026 as part of our launch promotion. After that, it's €19/month per listing.

How is RentMate different from Daft.ie?

Daft is a listing aggregator — it shows you properties and you contact landlords yourself. RentMate is a rental platform: structured tenant profiles, one-tap applications, real-time status tracking, messaging, compliance tools, and AI assistance. Less noise, more signal.

Does RentMate verify landlords?

We ask landlords to confirm they have the legal right to let their property. Full verification (title deed checking) is on our roadmap. In the meantime, all landlords must register with the RTB — we display RTB numbers on listings and encourage tenants to verify.

What happens after a tenant is accepted?

The landlord can generate a tenancy agreement using our AI Lease Generator (free until 10 June 2026, €9 per document after). From there, the tenancy proceeds offline — signing, key handover, and RTB registration are handled between the parties.

Is my data safe?

RentMate is built on Supabase (EU-hosted), secured with Row Level Security, and GDPR-compliant. Your profile data is only shared with landlords when you apply to their property. You can delete your account and all data at any time from your account settings.

How does the RTB Assistant work?

The RTB Assistant is powered by Claude (Anthropic's AI), trained on Irish tenancy law including the Residential Tenancies Acts and 2026 TMD regulations. It provides guidance — not legal advice. For complex situations, always consult a solicitor or Threshold (threshold.ie).

What are the 2026 Tenancy Management Duties?

The 2026 TMD regulations introduced a rolling 6-year compliance cycle for all landlords in Ireland. Landlords must actively demonstrate ongoing compliance across a structured set of duties — including property maintenance, RTB registration, and tenant communications. Use our free TMD Compliance Checker to assess your status.
